Catherine Friend White has been appointed Chair of the Advisory Board for the Stephen D. Cutler Center for Investments and Finance at Babson College. Catherine has been a member of the Cutler Center Advisory Board since 2007. She has served as panelist and speaker at the Center's many workshop series. Catherine is an active mentor to students and has provided internship opportunities to students with concentrations in finance. The Stephen D. Cutler Center for Investments and Finance at Babson College is dedicated to advancing the understanding and practice of investments and finance in the global economy.
Patricia R. Weller was a panelist at Bentley University's Center for Women and Business. The panel addressed an audience attending a program called "More Opportunity for Mothers (MOM)". The panelists offered insight on how to explore opportunities and ways to restart a career after taking a break to raise children.

Why? Mr. Slaney explained how outside research can offer FinArc's analysts additional perspectives and free up time for deeper research into the most important issues. Mr. Slaney also said "Our motivations are aligned with our clients and using independent research firms fits that sensibility." FinArc welcomes Patricia Weller to our client service team where she is a Client Service Liaison in addition to Paul O’Keeffe. We have been growing and needed to add another professional to our staff. Patricia has a wide range of financial experience including positions as the Director of Investor Relations and Fund Manager of Polaroid Corporation’s pension and profit-sharing plan. Prior to that she was a senior auditor with Arthur Young & Co.
Patricia is a CPA and holds a BS in Accounting from Bentley University. She has been involved with several community organizations including serving as president of her town library friends and treasurer for her local theatre group.
FinArc is pleased to announce that Liam Timmons was the recipient of the James A. Waters Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement in his MBA class at the Wallace E. Carroll School of Management at Boston College. The award is given annually to the graduating MBA student with the highest cumulative grade point average. Mr. Timmons was also inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society for business schools. Mr. Timmons graduated with a concentration in asset management. He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Boston College.
Catherine Friend White served on a panel discussing the Global Equity Outlook and Strategies at the Babson Investment Management Association's fourth annual conference on March 25, 2011. In addition to Ms. White, panelists included investment experts from Loomis Sayles & Company, Fidelity Management & Research, and Gold Stock Analyst. Catherine received her MBA from Babson College in 1986.
On Friday, November 19, 2010 Liam Timmons and several Boston College classmates had lunch with the Sage of Omaha, Warren Buffett, Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway. Here is a photo of Mr. Buffett holding Liam's Boston College Hockey jersey.
On October 9, 2010 Liam and Lauren Timmons welcomed Mackenna Ann Timmons to their family. Mom and baby girl are happy and healthy.
Catherine Friend White and Liam Timmons were panelists at Schwab IMPACT, the national conference for registered investment advisers with clients’ assets at Charles Schwab. They discussed how to hire top talent in a competitive field. Catherine talked about how FinArc recruits employees and interns. Liam related his experience coming from Deutsche Asset Management to a fast-moving, entrepreneurial company.
Catherine Friend White was the keynote speaker at the Babson Investment Management Association's Spring meeting. She discussed the strategy for portfolio management in turbulent times, and her outlook for the global stock markets.
On July 19, 2010 Matthew Slaney, CFA spoke to a portfolio management class of Bentley University MBA students about investment career considerations. The presentation focused on two main themes: 1) working at a small firm versus a large firm and 2) FinArc's approach to and implementation of socially responsible investing.
